Day 5: Index card a day
This time I just started dripping Dye-Na-Flow paint and pouring perfect pearls mists instead of spraying - all over an index card I had previously painted with gesso (white acrylic paint) for a nice base. Then, added rubber stamping of important words (to me!) drew faux stitches with a white pen and added circles too with that same pen (tracing through a template). That felt good. All of the cards I've done so far are HERE in an album if you are interested.
I am getting a groove on doing these cards this year especially, because I have no expectations of what they will look like. Steven said he liked this one a lot, which was nice, but my goal is just to do them. Get in the habit of working creatively with paper & paint, stamps & colored pencils, magazine bits, what ever else works for a short time on a daily babsis. I like the feeling of doing with no pressure as to how it will turn out! It is releasing me to dive in, which is what I want.
You can do this too! All you need is a stack of index cards. All the frequently asked questions are HERE. It doesn't matter that the challenge started June 1, you can start anytime. If you are a writer or a poet, you could use the cards for that. You could put a photo on each card, whatever you like. Make it work for you! The idea is to encourage a creative habit - yay!!! Goood for anyone :)
News flash! I have a new camera, but I have not even totally un-boxed yet . . . . what?? I was busy today making plans for our 3 day driving trip to Wolfe Island, Ontario at the end of this month. But I will get to the new camera!!! I have to look at the manual and put the CD in and learn about attaching lenses, a new thing for me. I have charged the 2 batteries, ha! My new camera is a micro 4/3 Olympus OM-D E-M10 . . . very exciting and it looks fabulously sleek compared to my Sony Cybershot superzoom. I also have a total of 3 lenses to go with the camera, with much thanks to hobbs for his advice for this lens newbie!
Busy but happy, trying to visit your journals too!
