"Can you feel the Spirit?"

This morning we had our monthly Coffee and Conversation meeting at church. Today's speaker was Cathy Sperry who is a member at our church and is a nationally recognized quilter. This is one of her quilts, "Can you feel the Spirit?", which won the 2006 National Quilt Museum Contest. She had spoken to the group once before, about four years ago, when she talked about her quilting journey - how she got into it etc., and shared a number of her quilts with us. Today, she picked up from where she left off four years ago, talking about some of the many quilts she has completed since then, many of them having been juried into competitions and winning prizes. I am just totally in awe of her talent - she is just so amazingly creative.

Roger and Laura went skiing today at Perfect North slopes in Indiana. They spent all day there, and are now totally exhausted! I went swimming at the "Y" for my daily exercise. Being a dutiful mother, I also did Laura's laundry for her, as tomorrow she goes back to university! I shall be having a trip up to see her sometime this week, as she ordered her textbooks online from Amazon, and they haven't arrived yet! Knowing our luck, they'll probably arrive on Monday!
