Floating
The last day of our spring break, and we broke our journey home at Lakeside once more and took the Miss Westmorland north up the lake to Bowness-on-Windermere.
After the quiet and wildness of the western lakes, Windermere is lot busier, but you still have the beauty of the lake and mountains all around. It's fun watching the boats, and several jets and a Hercules flew low above us, perhaps on their way to D-Day anniversary duties .
This scene is looking toward the northern end of the lake, just as we're approaching Bowness.
After receiving our dose of Beatrix Potter and crazy golf, we returned to Lakeside on MV Tern the oldest of the original Furness Railway boats that has been carrying passengers on the lake since the Nineteenth Century.
A good way to say goodbye to the Lakes, until next time.
