Heavy metal

This AC induction motor, manufactured by Peebles in Edinburgh is one of the many exhibits housed in the historic Electric Workshop in Newtown, Johannesburg, now the home of the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in the city.

The centre includes state of the art classrooms, a 240 seater auditorium, 2 fully equipped science laboratories and an ICT laboratory.

It also includes an exhibition hall of over 300 worldclass exhibits ( a very large number being inter-active) from which both youngsters and adults can enjoy an interesting learning experience.
