Wild goose chase

The swans at Blackford Pond will attack more or less any other bird at present - clearly the stresses and strains of rearing seven cygnets are beginning to tell. Here the male swan is in pursuit of one of the greylag geese, who are particularly unpopular with the swans. Although swans are very majestic and elegant in the water, they just can't bring it off on land. This chase (in which no goose was hurt) had the onlookers in stitches.
