An ordinary life....

The Sheep and the Stone...

Despite the weather forecast being heavy rain, we woke to glorious sunshine this morning. So lovely infact, that David spent a chunk of the morning sitting in the garden drinking coffee and generally relaxing.

Alan woke up hyper as today he was going back to Cumbernauld for the first time since we moved two years ago, for a very important get together with Mrs R (Elaine) who was his learning support teacher at primary school. She is absolutely lovely and we got to know her really well (plus her in-laws were our neighbours) and Alan has been angling to meet up with her again for ages.

Marion, the angel that she is, organised it all so we dropped Alan off in Cumbernauld at 2pm with Marion and they went to meet Elaine for coffee, whilst David and I headed off the hell that is Ikea on a Saturday – and a rainy Saturday at that as by now the rain was torrential. Quite a contrast to this morning.

Ikea was, well, Ikea. Bought the usual candles and photo frames but the most exciting purchase was a green wool rug that looks like grass. It’s going in the Gin Palace. I love it!

Picked Alan up from Marion’s. He’d had a great afternoon, not just meeting Elaine but had also been for a quick drive past our old house and his old primary school. We were worried seeing his home for the first 15 years of his life would unsettle him but it appears he was nothing more than a little curious.

Home now, it’s still raining so nothing else planned but dinner and feet up and no doubt a snooze on the sofa. Hope I can cope with the excitement of it all.

Happy Saturday Blip Pals xxx
