The Hazards of Winter

It's not the icy path - that doesn't exist. There's loads of packed snow here that's easy to walk on.

This little sign relates to the frozen lake. I've never seen it frozen shore-to-shore before, but this winter it has. Thing is, the ice at the edges isn't always as thick as people might like.

What amused/annoyed me though was a small group of mid-teen boys who decided it was a great idea to stamp on the ice and break it and throw chunks of ice around. I was annoyed that they were doing it, but amused that one of them had gone through the ice and got wet feet. The fact that he had frozen painful feet was, in my very humble opinion, his hard luck and not mine!
