They took our children & the canned goods & pasta

A game of two halves today... a nice warm spring (close to summers) morning turning to heavy rain late afternoon - perfect time then for a date with Moorflix! Our evening showing was The Kings of Summer, one of our favourite films of last year, not only too funny, but surely every teenage boy has dreamt of disappearing into a forest to build a ganghut... don't think we had chicken takeways back then so probably would have not lasted so long!

We did a first today, showed a Pixar short (The Blue Umbrella) before both of our films. I just love Pixar... not only do they make these classic mainstream kids films, but they encourage their teams to make these short films that accompany the main features. These films are always entertaining but some are just astonishing both in creativity and storytelling. Tonight's was about 2 umbrellas who meet, get split up and then are reunited. On paper, maybe not top of the list of films you want to watch, but on film... wow! These films shouldn't just be for kids....

I would have blipped a photo from this film instead had someone not beat me to it :-)
