Long Reach

Weather improved so at lunch I took another walk out at lunch to explore under the M25. Was a beautiful lunchtime walk just 10mins to Long Reach power station. I was revelling in the contrast between the incredibly busy non-stop traffic heading over the QEII bridge and the wide, modern and completely empty road below. Brightly lit by midday sun and with a low-level electrical hum of powerlines on the pilots ahead (have you ever heard that noise? It's amazingly powerful) the whole feel was decidedly sci-fi.

By the time I came across this substation I was convinced that Blake's 7 had been filmed here.
