Rain-Dogs

An evening walk for Lola at the dog enclosure in the Deer Park on Mt. Merrion hill. I had noticed the slate-dark bruiser-clouds over the Dublin mountains, and even heard a faint rumble of thunder. But the heaviness of the downpour was something of a surprise, reminded me of the monsoon cloudburst in Mumbai. It penetrated the thick-leafed chestnut we fled under, islanding us with the excited dogs, pelting the dirt to a muddy lava.
