Fabulous Porthcurno

Few beaches can compare with Porthcurno, though it's getting a bit difficult to get up the incredibly steep beach, through the soft sand now I'm 70!
After a series of steps your reach the upper beach.great going down, but I could see even young people were struggling up the slope!
We first came here on our Vespa scooter in 1963, my old pal Paul was so impressed, he asked "when did I die?"
With a peppermint green sea, Atlantic rollers and a steep beach, a surfers idea of paradise!
And beneath this beach are the Victorian and the modern undersea cables that link us to America, Australia, India and the whole world, buried under this gorgeous sand, as some of them have been since 1857!
Who thought the internet was a modern thing?
