Thirty something years ago I went to see my first gig - Duran Duran at the Hammersmith Odeon. I went with my best friend, Wendy.

Also in the audience that night (I found out years later) was my other lifelong friend, Nibs.

(We know it was the same show as Steve Harley came on and sang (Come Up and See Me) Make Me Smile with Simon Le Bon as a last encore).

So, tonight I took Betsy to her first gig. And who does she choose to come with us, but her friend Ellie who happens to be Wendy's daughter, plus her beloved Godmother, Nibs.

Between us, Wendy, Nibs and I have five daughters (plus my little boy), and I hope they are lucky enough to experience the kind of amazing friendships I have had with the fantastic women in my life I've been lucky enough to call my friends.

Wendy, Nibs, AJ, Amanda, Sue, Sharon, Mum. Women rock.

Oh, and so did One Direction! Great night!
