Speckled ...

Lovely morning walk in Blean Woods with the dogs. Lots of Heath Fritillaries along some of the rides. Cow wheat is said to be their major food source but actually they seem very keen on feeding from brambles and a sort of rush which I have learned to call "draw moss" (I have no idea what the proper name is).

This is a Speckled Wood butterfly, which love oak woods. There are also a few Brimstones still flying around.
