Pilloried for examining wild flowers on the verge

We (my middle child and I) set off to the far west of Wales along the M4 and eventually, running out of motorway felt it safe to park and examine the marvellous patches of orchids, grasses and marguerites along the verges - we didn't pick any, promise... We also stopped off to visit a castle and moat, water mill and river and feasted in a pub on arrival at the far tip and put up in a Youth Hostel ready for the morning's excursion
