St Mark's
Across the road from this afternoon's BBQ I spotted this spire over the roofs of the houses. It is St Mark's Church in Tunbridge Wells. The 132 ft tall slender spire was designed by architect Mr R. L. Romieu, who drew on his French Huguenot ancestry for inspiration. In particular the churches of Lombardy, hence the unusual slope of the corbels. A closer view of the spire can be seen here.
The BBQ was for Nick's 40th and Sarah Jane's 30th birthdays (orienteering friends of ours ) and the fact that they have finally got engaged.
