Cardiff Bay at Sunset
We met my brother, his wife and her dad for breakfast at 8 a.m at a local restaurant. The reason behind meeting so early was that we intended to drive back to Brighton after visiting mum in the nursing home. However, when we arrived at the home later they were in the middle of a quiz that we were invited to participate in. Tell me the name of a place beginning with "P" said the quiz mistress. "Peacocks" shouted one of the elderly residents," I love shopping there". The next question was "a food" beginning with "R". "Rome" shouted the same resident. "We are on places now" snapped my mum who takes her quizzes very seriously. Finally, they were asked to think of an animal beginning with "N". The receptionist, shouted "gnat". Oh dear!
We then had coffee with mum and by that time we felt too exhausted to drive home.
We went for a late evening walk around Cardiff Bay, formerly Cardiff Docks made famous as Tiger Bay by Shirley Bassey. Although now a really sophisticated area with restaurants and walkways, there are still remnants of the old docks as seen in this image.
