Flying home
On the long flight home from Armenia, via Moscow, I felt a mixture of sadness to be leaving, satisfaction at having seen so much wonderful wildlife and excitement at the thought of returning to my beloved Chilterns. This shot seemed to sum up my heightened emotions. It was taken as the sun was starting to set over the Baltic sea, just after we had flown over Latvia, and marked the return to Europe from a most amazing country that is neither European or Asian and sits at the crossing place of history, cultures and bio-geographical regions. I will be back!!
