Mono Monday : Mail Box

Just an ordinary boring postbox set in a wall on the outskirts of Newbury in the UK. I used picasa to make it a bit different :)

History

These 'smaller capacity' wall mounted boxes began to be introduced in 1857. These were for small towns and more rural areas. This one I believe was installed later on as it is engraved 'Queen Elizabeth II'.
