Pilots' Cottages, Llanddwyn Island

Today started off miserable and finished up mostly awesome.

Torrential rain started in the middle of the night and continued pretty much the whole morning. So we didn't leave the holiday cottage until he had to set off out to meet friends for lunch (by the way, one of the couple we met for lunch told us that she used to hang out with the actual Beatles back in the early sixties before they were famous – swoon). Lunch was lovely – might go back to that cafe.

Then I had a phone interview with a magazine called Living North about my 1000 Blips. The rest of the afternoon was spent with the lunch companions taking us on a walk around the local Newborough Beach for a few hours, including a walk up into the hills overlooking the beach where I got this shot of the old Pilots' Cottages.

Now back at the cottage, Pimms has been supped and now we're settling down with dinner, a bottle of wine and a film.

In fact the only real downer of the day was hearing about the passing of Rik Mayall :-(
