Mount Pleasant Sorting Office, London
Mount Pleasant is offically known as the 'Central London Mail Centre' and has been, in the past, the largest mail sorting centre in the world.
It was built on the site of the former Coldbath Fields Prison, and opened in August 1889 when the Post Office Sites Act became law.
From 1927 to 2003 Mount Pleasant was connected to all of the railway stations in London by the London Post Office Railway, it's own dedicated underground.
The car park of the sorting office is currently the subject of a planning application to build 700 new homes. Mayor of London Boris Johnson will decide in August whether to approve the plan.
