Hop a mountain ...

and onto the Ben, bit bad Ben Nevis for Saturday. Meet 5am. ! :) Bacon rolls radios and hoof up the mountain with a whole new gang, but everyone looks familiar. All mountaineers by trade ... keep one foot in front of the other, mountains to climb. Fluro bibs on :) I was stationed with Will at the half way Lochan, checking in the teams of 4 on the event ... Will working away on the left. And the sun came up and just could not believe the sight. 400 folk in the event we were Marshalling/Medicing, but just a fraction of the Ben traffic. Maybe about 3,000 folk passed us by. Mostly with sponsorship t-shirts on. What a sight! Almost speechless on that.
Hoof up the mountain a little further, reports of a man with a limp. So many folk on the path hard to even see who might be struggling. We found him eventually. He made it to the top. And we walked him off at the end of the day, slowly but surely, we did a wee litter sweep as he hobbled down. What a day!
Beer at the Achintee after. Home for a bath and some peppermint foot cream.
