The Night Before Christmas....
A year can be a long time and a short time. A lot has passed in the last twelve months and I've really been looking forward to Christmas after last years struggles. It was a humbling experience not being able to buy gifts for friends and family, but at the same time it helped me to realise what Christmas should always be about.
Rhys and Iesty turned up mid afternoon, the freshly scattered snow arriving just in time to ensure we could fit in a quick snowball fight before darkness fell over Christmas Eve. We plucked some carrots from the fridge and filled a bowl full of nuts and oats placing them atop the snowy blanket in the front garden ready for the arrival of Santa's sleigh pulling team. Santa was treated to a fresh mince pie and small glass of port. With the boys in bed I started my marathon present wrap and gave the bikes a clean and polish. Finally finished up just before midnight and hastily washed down the mince pie with a glug of port. Think it could be an early start tomorrow!
