The Festival Pavilion, Harrogate
The Festival Pavilion sits in Crescent Gardens, Harrogate. It houses a statue of Cupid and Psyche sculpted in 1861 by Italian artist Giovanni Maria Benzonni.
Originally located in Harrogate's Spa Room Gardens, it was removed in 1958, and placed in storage, until rediscovered years later.
It is now permanently displayed in this glass pavilion.
An interesting fact is the pavilion itself was originally originally created for the display of Harrogate's entry in the 1990 Gateshead Garden Festival but found a new used when the statue was rediscovered and restored.
A good example of recycling
