Doha Days

The heat is on. The thought of playing football outside today is unthinkable. Eight years from now, this week, should see the Qatar World Cup kicking off here in 8 air conditioned stadia. I have met recently with an engineer overseeing one of these projects and it was fascinating to learn about the volumes of cold air needed to maintain an acceptable ambient temperature for the players without chilling the spectators to the bone !
