A wet day in Rotorua

Sadly the weather didn't behave and had to pull out of taking the visitors around, but had arranged last night for a lunch at Aorangi Peak, a wonderful spot overlooking all of Rotorua and the lake. It was a wonderful gathering and got to know Datong Pang, a very amiable chap. The language barrier is always an issue.

The weather really closed in and didn't get any decent photos from the viewpoint, but on the way home there was a little gap so took a couple of shots overlooking Ohinemutu, a beautiful marae built in the thermal area beside Lake Rotorua.

The sky looked menacing, and the 30 minute drive home turned out to be very wet with torrential rain. Not looking forward to heading back into town tonight for a committee meeting!
