Tortuguero

This collage shows the bus and the river taxi ( for all our baggage and the 17 of us.) On the way down river we paused to catch the monkeys and toucans high in the trees.

I got better pics of the monkeys two days latter. There were spider monkeys, white faced monkeys and howler monkeys. I could have got better toucans but I had run out of battery.

We were in a magnificent lodge near the river mouth. The food was delicious and the service really good. The best part was cruising on the river/ estuary and canals ( from logging years ago) and looking the prolific wild life.

We saw a Sloth. He scratched his nose and looked at us. Iguanas and lizards, 3 sorts of monkeys, parrots, toucans, herons, caimans (like small crocodiles) poison arrow tiny red frogs, and loads of other birds.
