It Worked!

This is a public service announcement, rather than a good photo! J's iPhone 4s leapt out of her pocket and made a bid for freedom by diving into he toilet last
Thursday morning. Unfortunately it could not swim and, fished out, was lifeless. It was put into a box of rice. Nothing. It was spoke to kindly. Nothing. A phone call was made to SimplyFixit, a brilliant chain of shops who fix computers and all things Apple. Did they have a reconditioned iPhone? Why not try reviveaphone? Cost £15. Apparently water doesnt damage any part of the phone but leads to chemical changes that stop it working. The magic solution reverses the changes. The phone gets soaked again in solution for 7 minutes then is to be left to dry out. After 24 hours, nothing. After 48 hours, nothing. A call to the insurance company. Suddenly, after 72 hours, it started to revive. It charged. It showed its apps but would not allow changes to the screen. Later in the day, it became fully functional. All that remains is for the screen to dry out fully. Apparently that can take some time. It's amazing. It is available on Amazon and can work for quite a long time after the the damage is done.
