Duomo Milan

In Milan for three nights.
Thought it might be cooler than Florence......in our dreams!
The needle hit 40C this afternoon - blistering and totally energy sapping heat.
Did manage a walk!!.....amongst other places to the elaborate gothic cathedral, started in the fourteenth century but not finished in its current form until the 19th century.
It is very beautiful, and is the fifth largest Christian cathedral in the world, after St Peter's in Rome, Aparecida Brazil, Seville and New York.
It is embellished on every side with 135 spires and hundreds of sculpted figures.
Quite remarkable.
