Meet Percy

Percy is a fledgling crow who has been sitting in the nursery garden for 3 days. This is quite normal behaviour for young crows the lady from the SSPCA assured me, and sure enough mum and dad appear regularly to feed him, even through the fence! Percy has become a bit of a nursery celebrity as his log is in clear view of passing parents. The children like to sit and watch him, bringing water in assorted containers and offering grapes and bird seed. I hope he flies away soon as he seems very vulnerable and we're worried for his safety! The parents have so far chased seagulls and several cats away from their offspring however, so fingers crossed Percy will make it to adulthood. Springwatch eat your heart out!
