China Town...
So much of Manchester seems to be being redeveloped, rebuilt and restored at the moment. This is a good thing, as a city that isn't constantly reinventing itself is in decline.
But it's nice to see a project come to fruition. We have had the Chinese Imperial Arch restored to us at last. A series of wet winters had taken their toll on this interesting structure and the paint was looking dull and flaking in places.
Well the covers have come off it and it all looks splendid. In nearby St. Peter's Square, the cross that marks the position of the long gone church is getting a makeover and the Cenotaph is being moved to its new position in the remodelled and realigned square...
