little flower

Can anyone tell me what this little flower is? I feel very guilty about it as I spotted it growing by the side of the road, bent to look at it properly and accidently broke it. It was the only one and I've not seen another like it in these parts. The leaves were low down on the stem and were very small, a bit like vetch.
