Today I met up with a friend for a quick coffee, then came home and decided to do a spot of gardening. I had one last plant to pot up, but had run out of compost, so decided to go for a walk over to Deptford to buy a small bag, light enough to carry back (I took this photo on the way, on the path underneath the railway line) I splashed out on a bag of Pound Shop compost (only the very best for my pots!) and a pair of gardening gloves and waddled back home. The small bag, didn't feel quite so small on the way back in the heat...I feared the pound shop-thinness of the compost bag would burst open as I carried it half across my shoulder, sticking to my hot skin and turning me into a walking mud pie. Fortunately, that drama didn't happen!
I spent the afternoon, potting and filling yet another wheelie bin almost full of shrubs I'd pruned/chopped,. The pyracantha has some very vicious thorns and I chopped a bit off that cheeky rose bush that spiked me the other day. I intended to go out again after I'd finished, but was far too cosy sitting in the sun reading (and still out here now, at 'quarter to bed time'...10.00 p.m.!)
