Campion and Buttercups

The carpet man came round yesterday afternoon, I've made my choice and it will be fitted next week... and luckily he doesn't think it necessary to take up the laminate. He's also going to fit a section of door-matting by the front door, which will be great when Jasper and I return from our walks, particularly in the winter.

In about an hour Tesco will be delivering a stair gate. At some point in the future it may be used for grandchildren, but at the moment it's for Jasper... er well no, it's for me!

It's slightly odd that I feel so much more settled than I did the last time I moved back to Derby, two and a half years ago, but it's good.*

Edit: *Possibly it's because I do have money this time to buy furniture, car etc. properly, unlike last time when I only made do, e.g. with the garden bench for a settee.
