PEACE BE WITH YOU
My friend Tom took me with him to Elkhorn Golf course today. It was a practice run, because we are going there for two days next week with a bunch of guys. Elkhorn is about an hours drive up into the mountains from here. It is a very difficult course, but being in the mountain, it is very little used and very , quiet, beautiful, and peaceful. There are lots of creeks, ponds, mountain backdrops, roaming deer(sometimes elk), and, of coarse trees and moss. We didn't play that well, but we had a great time.
After the round, we went to Tom and Joanne's cabin right next door. They had just planted Roddies and Azelias last weekend. That is why we had to go up there, to water the planting.
This is a picture of a statue of the Hindu Goddess of Peace. I have forgotten her name. She used to grace Tom and Joanne's prize winning garden here in Silverton, before they sold their house. When they moved they decided to donate her to the garden of a local Catholic sponsored nursing home. She was there for a few days, but a few of the residents complained, because she wasn't Christian. I don't think that that was very "Christian" But now she lives in a totally peaceful spot in the mountains.
