As we all know today saw the start of the World Cup. I'm really surprised how big it is out here considering all the other sports they have that their teams actually stand a chance in. But then I guess the same could be said for England, we'll see. As I'm English I was put in charge of organising the studio sweepstake, which here they do the same as March Madness (basketball), the bracket method. Very confusing and you have to have a rough knowledge of football to stand a chance. I was surprised to see most people keen to take part, but then we do have a broad range if nationalities in the studio so this competition should actually be quite fun. They even erected a screen to project all of the matches on.
After work I went for a glass of wine or two with Claire and Megan. Claire's been there since just before I arrived and is lovely, and verrrry French, but leaves soon as her internship is up which is annoying as she is one of the people I get on well with. After this we ended up in China town on a roof for a birthday of one of Megan's friends. It was totally random, with people sat around eating dumplings and making cocktails.
