The Last Stop for The Curious?

Meet Colin.

He noticed that I take lots of photographs. I noticed that he sells Vintage Hats.

Today we got chatting and he told me that Bowler Hats became popular in The City in the 1870s when The Bank of England mandated that all it's Senior Managers must wear them.

Within a few years most City Gents had adopted the look and it became the height of fashion.

In the 1970s, The BofE decided that it's managers need no longer wear Bowlers and within a a few years you would hardly see any Bowler Hats in The City.

I always wondered about that.

You know it's hard to believe but a year or so ago Colin was homeless and broke. Then he started this business. His story is here.

It's fascinating.
