On Guard!

We went somewhere different this morning for the daily walk as J's Flash needed to be vaccinated prior to puppy arrival.

Bearing in mind it was beautifully hot and sunny we went along a woodland path the other side of Wiveliscombe. It is a small valley with a river running through.

I spotted this rather large dog sitting, obviously on guard, on the opposite river bank but I am not sure what was being protected. Possibly he/she was thinking hard about going for a swim but could not make up their mind. I am not sure of the breed - any ideas....?
