Huntley's Cave
About five miles north of Grantown on Spey and now a popular climbing area, Huntley's cave is named after Lewis Gordon, 3rd Marquis of Huntley. He is reputed to have sheltered here, sustained by his future wife and fiancee of his older brother, Mary Grant of Castle Grant. Aged 16 he married, and having been a soldier from the age of 13, having fought for and against the French, the English and the Scottish armies he died in 1653 aged 26, leaving three daughters, one four year old son (Duke of Gordon) and a young widow. Quite a character!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
