Pamukkale
Taken at the strange, mushroom shaped thermal pools at Pamukkale.
A good contender for the most beautiful place I have been so far, in south western Turkey, these strangely shaped pools atop a gentle cliffside stand starkly out, bright white and crescent shaped, and further show a beautiful contrast when the gates at the top are opened and the pools allowed to fill with water, which immediately becomes a bright, vivid robins' egg blue, and warm enough to happily sit in indefinitely.
I'd immediately, and strongly recommend visiting, it's a really beautiful part of the world.
I foolishly decided to forgo sunblock of any kind or concentration, and spent a good four or five hours in shorts, no shoes (you must remove your shoes to enter the travertines) and no shirt.
I burnt rather horribly, and am still peeling slightly, though thankfully that itchy stage is pretty much over and I have tanned lightly.
