Bring your own?

I was surprised to see that someone was able to bring their dinner on the plane within a saucepan. No ziplock bags and 4fl oz limits here .The young lady was admirable travelling companion and the food was I suspect very nice ... but I did have a tummy less than a 100% so the smell was a little distracting for me,with plane re-circulate policy
