What a difference a day makes

I knew things moved quickly in the life of a baby but cannot believe how fast things have changed for my beautiful girl. Things we've achieved today:
- being taken off oxygen
- sleeping in a cot not an incubator
- having lots and lots of cuddles with me and the fella
- taking my milk first through her tube, then in a cup then from my boobs. She's a natural at feeding (in fact just had to take a break from writing this to go feed her)
- finding out the cause of her breathlessness. Something to do with her vocal cords not working 100% but a scan early next week will confirm
- being moved to the low dependency unit with only a small monitor
- me and the fella moving to a room on the unit so I can be near her to feed and he doesn't have to shuttle backwards and forwards. It's not glamorous but it's not like a hospital room either - think cheap end travelodge - but we're together and near here
- showing grandma and grandad how much better she is (though they weren't allowed cuddles yet as she was still in the high dependency section where only parents can touch)

So much achieved and feeling so much more positive. I still cannot believe such a little bundle of awesomeness is ours. I'm well and truly smitten.

Ps can't promise any more exciting photos over the next few days as pretty much confined to the ward but I'll try
Pps this is going to be a very baby orientated blip for a while. Hang on in there!!
Ppss sorry photo not great - had to sneak it through the side of her cot - though notice the beautiful shawl my clear mummy knitted that is becoming a big comfort to her.
