IUCN and Japanese Eel
International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) has listed the Japanese Eel in its redlist as "endangered" on June 12th.
So I thought of going for a dish of broiled eel seasoned with sweet saw sauce before this food becomes even more difficult to eat. Delicious!
Japanese Eel was a commonly eaten dish a decade ago since they were cheap, delicious, and healthy. Now they are expensive. More than two times the price it was a decade ago while the Japan's economy itself was deflating.
But I guess the necessary actions are being taken to protect the remaining resources so that Japanese Eel can remain as part of Japan's food culture in the ling term.
Very sleepy after try my best to stay up late midnight and early morning for Mexico vs Cameroon and Spain vs Netherlands.
I should sleep well today and be prepared for Japan vs Cote d'Ivoire coming tomorrow!
