elf & safety

In Wednesday's Blip I predicted I'd be fed up with the Scottish weather by the weekend. I was right.

Grey. Drizzle every so often. Yuk.

I got some gardening done, but only half of what I'd planned.

I finally gave up about 4, and went down to Dysart Harbour. The lure of the sea after a week away (plus 2 days at home when I was too busy to get there).

I ended up with several possible Blips. A Dysart Yole - unique type of sailing boat. A big German freighter offshore with wind turbine blades on deck.

I almost got a seal. It popped up close to me, but dived before I could get it in the frame.

I went for the men getting a boat into the harbour. I have a thing about H&E absurdity in the UK. A nation which has precious little common sense, but sleeps in fluorescent jackets.

These 4 blokes didn't have a yellow jacket between them, but enough common sense and experience to get a tricky job done safely. They got my vote.

Wonder if they're Bavarian?

[Ed note:- 15 years ago wind turbine blades were being made in Kirkcaldy by Aerpac - a Dutch company. It went bust.]
