The Tin Forest

Another busy Saturday, the highlight being a visit to The Tin Forest at Springburn Park. It was fantastic!

It's kind of a theatrical promenade around the park rockery involving: kids reciting poems, women 'hinging' out of windows gossiping and ordinary folk telling truly heartfelt stories about what Springburn means to them both historically and now.

The woman pretending to hoe the garden was really quite moving (and not because she was pretending to hoe a garden). I don't like to make judgements but she looked as though she had lived a hard life. She expressed herself so honestly and with such emotion and sincerity. You really felt as though she wanted people to understand her, her life and Springburn. Although she was playing a part, she kinda wasn't.
