Birthday bombe
Gill and I have wanted to try making the Charlotte Royale since we saw the disastrous attempts on the Bake Off.
The recipe begins " first make your strawberry jam...." so it was obviously going to be a challenge. I must admit to thinking, what's wrong with just buying a jar? When I tasted the fresh jam I knew.
Make two Swiss rolls, make a raspberry Bavarois, line your bowl with Swiss roll slices, fill and chill over night, turn it out a glaze with arrowroot.
What could be simpler?
Anyway, we were pleased with the result!
