"See Rhosilli beach and die"

That's what I was told by a colleague before coming here. I was a little trepidatious, understandably, as I didn't really want to die this weekend, but I did want to see the beach. Four miles of lovely sand, stoney heads at each end, almost nobody on the beach. What's not to love?

We went for a nice walk today - from the Secret Beaches of Wales book - over the downs to Rhossili then a nice loop around the headland, past Fall bay and back into Rhossili, then back along the beach to the campsite. The middle bit was beautiful - sunny, warm, light breeze, glorious views. The first bit and the last bit were less good - sideways rain, windy, miserable.

Whose daft idea was it to walk two miles along the beach in the driving rain, eh? hmph
