Heron seeking breakfast

About an hour later than I've been going out, went down to Sandy Beach as it was a beautiful, tradewind, bright sunshine kind of day. Doing my usual shoreline walk , suddenly spot this bird landing to my right. He blended well with the rocks and I found him hard to find and focus on. He looks like a "black-headed night heron" but description doesn't fit entirely. Perhaps a "bittern" (like that word).
In any case, he made the morning special for me.
