Joust!

what a lovely day.

fresh fruit for breakfast, quick flit round "the biggest thing to happen in the village for 20 years" in one of our local villages - the summer fair. Then met some very good friends at Avoncroft, having booked us in for High Tea. It turned out that there was a wedding at Avoncroft this afternoon, and also a re-enactment thing all weekend. So there was some jousting - real, proper jousting with horses running fairly fast towards each other and riders, in armour, waving very long lances at each other attempting to hit each other. Very exciting indeed.

Then sandwiches, scones, cakes, lots of tea (some very nice, some very odd). Then a quick stroll round the museum, nice chat with the blacksmith, then found our way to a canalside pub to continue the conversations.

Then home in time to watch the match - c'mon England!
