HonFest!

This is the 2nd year I've attended Baltimore's ("Bawlmer" for the natives) HonFest, one of the quirkiest street festivals in the area. It celebrates bygone days with ladies sporting beehives, cat glasses, leopard prints, and housecoats -- all to the tune of old fashioned bands.

The Bawlmer term of endearment, Hon, short for Honey, embodies the warmth and affection bestowed upon neighbors and visitors alike by historic working-women of Baltimore. HonFest is an annual celebration in honor of these women and covers four city blocks in a blue-collar hood of Baltimore. It is the friendliest gathering of people in the area -- by a mile!
