The Redundant Wind Chimes

I noticed today that for the first time in a long time, there wasn't a breath of wind. L loves wind chimes and this one makes a good sound when it is windy, but today it was eerily silent. It was as if there was something missing, no movement in the air, no resultant sound and though silence is sometimes a relief, it reminded me that familiar sounds form part of the the background to our daily lives.
